Fans of The Boys have noticed Laz Alonso’s dramatic weight loss transformation since season 4 of the hit show aired its first episode in June 2024. The actor, who portrays Marvin T. Milk, better known as Mother’s Milk, opened up about his weight loss journey on social media.

“My man, lost some serious weight, looking good papito!” one person commented on Laz’s December 2023 Instagram post, to which he replied, “Had to trim it down fam! Got carried away too much pizza.”

He also explained that a recent a DNA test from the brand BioSynergy helped him take steps to improve his health.

“The DNA test was something that literally revolutionized the way that I look at supplementation and being healthy because I’m only putting in my body what my body is deficient in,” the Avatar actor said.

In 2009, Laz starred in Fast & Furious as antagonist Fenix Calderon. From 2010 to 2011, he appeared in the crime drama Southland.

He portrayed Billy Soto in The Mysteries of Laura from 2014 to 2016. The following year, he acted in the crime drama Detroit.

2021

Laz scored his role in The Boys, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2019. For him, it’s been the role of a lifetime.

“The Boys is an answer to a prayer I asked when I was feeling unenthused about my career. I asked God to direct me to a show that I would be excited to watch,” he told Uptown in August 2022. “One that was fun, crazy, took risks, but at the same time spoke about social commentary in a way that can inspire change. And that’s what this show does. I turned down a lot of offers before this series came along, without any guarantee I would find what I was looking for. But I had faith. And I was determined to get back to how I started this career, working on the things I’m passionate about and enjoy.”
