‘The Price Is Right’ Announcer George Gray Files for Divorce From Wife After 5 Years of Marriage
George Gray, the longtime announcer on The Price Is Right, has filed for divorce from his wife, Brittney Green.
George, 57, listed the reason for the split as “irreconcilable differences” and their official separation date as August 1, 2024, according to an article from TMZ published on Wednesday, January 21.
He later told the outlet that he and Brittney mutually came to the decision to file for divorce, but they’ll be attending couple’s counseling in an effort to make their relationship work. In California, the law states that a couple has up to six months to work on their marriage and can rescind their divorce filing if they choose to not go through with the dissolution of their marriage.
Brittney and the former Weakest Link host officially tied the knot in April 2019, but a year later George had a serious health scare when he suffered three heart attacks in a row in April 2020. George first went to the hospital after experiencing chest pains. He underwent surgery and doctors placed a stent in his chest that would open a path for blood flow to his heart. However, shortly after the stent was placed, it failed and the game show announcer suffered a second heart attack.
George was put under once again so another stent could be placed. When he was recovering from the surgery and taking a walk around the hospital, the second stent failed as well and he was back in the operating room. He had a third massive heart attack while on the table, one known as “the widowmaker” due to its extremely high fatality rate. Fortunately, doctors were able to catch it and George survived.
“He is recovering well, considering his brush with death this week,” George’s representative told Variety in an article published on April 25, 2020. “I was able to speak to him for about 20 minutes this morning, and he is in good spirits after the scare of his life. He is currently resting and focusing on recovery.”

George later opened up about the ordeal to Entertainment Tonight.
“This was tons of bricks hitting me,” George told the outlet in 2021, “and it turns out it was 100 percent blocked on the right side of my heart.”
Brittney, who appeared alongside George in the interview, revealed she was the one who called the paramedics. Thanks to the high school math teacher’s call, George was being operated on within 40 minutes. He said that “otherwise, [he] wouldn’t have made it.”
“There were a couple of nurses [who were] big fans of Price is Right, and they knew who I was,” George continued. “They said, ‘We’re going to get you taken care of and you’re going to be doing great. You’re going to be doing ‘Come on down!’”
The third heart attack hit three days later, and George said the doctors knew what was going on.
“So, I had two stents and a quadruple bypass,” George added. “When you get to a certain age, do stress tests. Check out your ticker and make sure it’s where you need to be. Go see the doctor. It could save your life.”
