Valerie Bertinelli Reveals Gruesome Injury After Working on New Project: What Happened to the Actress?

Valerie Bertinelli revealed that she recently suffered a brutal arm injury, showing off the scar in a post on Instagram.

What Happened to Valerie Bertinelli?

On October 30, 2024, Valerie revealed in an Instagram post that she suffered an injury to her arm. In the picture, she held her arm up to reveal a scar with a scab on it.

“I would ask for hazard pay, but it was my own damn fault,” she explained in her caption. “I’ve been working on a really fun new project that I can’t wait to tell you about and this is what happens when you literally trip over the corner of a stage and fall on your ass in front of the crew. And the whole audience. When you’re me. Because I’m a klutz. And embarrassing myself is my bailiwick.”

Concerned fans chimed in with comments underneath the post. “I hope that heals real fast. Can’t wait to see what you’re up to!” one person wrote, while another said, “Girl!! At least your face was spared and you will heal fast with all our healing vibes!!”

“You are a hero to all of us ‘serial fallers.’ Baller move, Valerie,” another person said, while another penned, “It will make for a nice conversation piece, but in all seriousness please heal up soon. Sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery.”

Valerie Bertinelli’s Got a New Gig

It was not immediately made clear what project Valerie was working on at the time she sustained the injury. However, she’s been kept busy by her new television gig.

Just recently, it was announced that the Hot in Cleveland alum was joining The Drew Barrymore Show as a lifestyle expert.

“I absolutely adore her,” she told People in September 2024. “And all the people that work there are so flippin’ cool.”

“I’ll be going to New York a lot to hang out with Drew and see where that takes me,” Valerie added. At the time, she was dating East coast-based writer Mike Goodnough, but they have since broken up after he posted cryptic quotes on Instagram.

The news of her new gig came after Valerie was ousted from Food Network after hosting Kids Baking Championship and multiple other shows for a number of seasons.

“Without sounding like a drama queen, the show saved my life,” the cookbook author said in an Instagram video in January 2024. “Just working with all of those really wonderful people and feeling productive and knowing I could spread some kindness, and not just wallow in my hell and just try to keep my head above water. It helped me, it was like a flotation device. So it really hurts that I won’t be able to go back and see everybody and say, ‘Hey, I made it through.’”

In a post on X, Valerie clarified that she has “zero ill will toward anyone” at Food Network despite her exit from the network.

“I enjoyed every single moment I worked for them, and they are all lovely, kind, hard-working people,” she said. “And I understand business is business. But I won’t tolerate lies. I am a lot of things, but I am not greedy, nor am I a liar.”
