“We give each other a lot of attention. That seems simple, but you’d be amazed at how many couples don’t remember to give one another a lot of attention,” Suzanne told Us Weekly of how they made marriage work for so long. “It’s not, like, a chore for us. I love to hug him and rub his hair. He tells me I’m beautiful all the time and we hold hands while we sleep. It’s the most beautiful part of my life.”

He Feels Her Spirit

After Suzanne’s death, Alan opened up about feeling her spirit around him.

“Three things happened. The same day, that were very strange,” he told Page Six in January 2024. “A hummingbird flew into our house and made the rounds in the kitchen, and the living room and the dining room.”

Then, “the fireplace started all by itself.” After that, “some music came on by Suzanne’s favorite composter.”

Alan Revealed That Suzanne Was Buried in Timberland Boots

Alan explained why Suzanne was buried wearing a pair of Timberland boots.

“Suzanne never really had boots designed for hiking on the rocks, so I ordered the Timberland boots,” he told People in December 2023. “[I] made my gift personal by drawing on them in a few words that represented our life to some degree and made them very personal to Suzanne.”

The late star’s spouse added, “Every time she put on the Timberlands, she said, ‘I am wearing you, and my boots will keep me safe.’”
