Marie and Donny Osmond Shut Down Rumors They Quit Las Vegas Show Due to Fighting: ‘Oh, Come On!’

After Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond announced the end of their long-running Las Vegas residency at the Flamingo Hotel, fans of the brother-sister duo became worried that the two called it quits due to lingering animosity. However, the “I’m Leaving It up to You” singers recently cleared the air on why they’ve decided to shut the door on their beloved show.

“We announced this and the next day they were like, ‘Oh they’re fighting,'” the 59-year-old dished to Entertainment Tonight. “And I’m like, ‘Oh come on, we get angry at each other every day. Come on,'” Marie joked while pointing out that she and Donny have many disagreements like typical siblings.

All humor aside, Donny, 61, revealed the reason why he and his sister made the tough decision to close this chapter of their lives. “Why? Why not?” he questioned. “There’s so many projects we want to do individually. She’s got her career, I’ve got my career … We had no idea it would be 11 years. We started out as a six-week contract and here we are 11 years later.”

Marie and Donny — who will perform their final show in Las Vegas on November 16 — announced that their iconic residency would be coming to an end during an appearance on Good Morning America on March 21. “It’s been rumored that we’re bringing ‘Donny and Marie’ to an end here in Las Vegas,” the “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” singer told host Paula Faris. “We’re here to say it’s official.”

Just days after sharing their bittersweet news, the sentimental songstress took to Instagram to share a sweet shoutout to her “dear brother” and onstage partner. “This week, my brother Donny and I made it official: we will be taking our final bow this November at the @flamingovegas,” the brunette beauty wrote in the caption. “I have always tried to remind myself that Donny is my brother first and my business partner second. He knew I would need the support of my brother. Donny has been with me through some very difficult trials.”

While they understand that the final farewell will be a hard pill for fans to swallow, Donny and Marie — who have been performing together onstage for 40 plus years — want their fans to know one thing: “It’s the end of The Donny & Marie Show, it’s not the end of Donny and Marie.” Las Vegas will miss you both!
