Kelly Ripa Is Afraid Ryan Seacrest Will Leave ‘Live’ Just Like Michael Strahan — “She Is Truly Rattled”
Poor Kelly Ripa. According to Life & Style magazine, the 46-year-old TV star is “truly rattled” and is constantly fearing that her new co-host Ryan Seacrest is going to leave Live just like her old co-star Michael Strahan did. “It feels like the Michael fiasco all over again to Kelly,” an insider recently revealed. “[Kelly] believes she’s going to lose Ryan just like she lost Michael.”

Michael, 45, first joined Live back in September 2012 but left the show less than four years later in April 2016 to instead join the Good Morning America team. After a year of searching for a permanent co-host replacement, ABC announced Ryan, 42, as Kelly’s new right-hand man on May 1, 2017. But, just a few weeks later, the network revealed that Ryan would also be joining the upcoming American Idol reboot, much to Kelly’s dismay.
“[Kelly] didn’t know about the American Idol revival. When she found out she was truly rattled,” a source told Life & Style. “[She] is truly pissed that, after all the time ABC spent negotiating with Ryan for Live, they would then buy the show that made him a household name and take him away,” another TV insider said. “[Kelly] really thought Live would be Ryan’s focus.”
To add insult to injury, Live has reportedly been experiencing low ratings ever since Ryan joined the show. “The show is a wreck at the moment… Ryan is just not connecting with daytime viewers. He appeals to a much younger, music-oriented audience. Kelly blames the show. She feels [execs] made a huge miscalculation bringing him on to Live,” another source added.
