Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy Are Ready for Baby No. 2 — and Want a Girl!

Another baby on the way?! Dancing With the Stars pros Peta Murgatroyd, 31, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 38, recently told Life & Style that they are definitely planning to give their 14-month-old son Shai a sibling. “We would love to have a girl next,” Peta gushed. “It’s funny — we can’t imagine having another boy because we can’t imagine how we could love another boy like we love Shai.”

The toddler is walking and talking (in English and Russian), but he isn’t following in mom and dad’s footsteps just yet. “He hasn’t started to dance yet,” Peta shared. “But he loves music.” And while Shai waits for his baby sister, he does have another little lady in the house to play with… sorta. “He loves talking to [Amazon’s] Alexa!” Peta said. “He babbles at it and, of course, Alexa doesn’t know what he’s saying.”

This actually isn’t the first time Maks and Peta have spoken out about expanding their family in the future. In February, Maks revealed he “can’t wait” to have more babies with his stunning wife. “I can’t wait for more,” the proud dad gushed before Peta added, “He would have a baby every year if he could! That means I would be constantly fat. I think three is a good number. Maybe in a year it would be nice. They would still be close in age.”

In the meantime, Shai’s mom and dad are simply doing their best to raise their son well. “I think he’s gonna be a very good, respectful boy,” Maks shared. Peta added, “That is one thing I won’t ever tolerate — rudeness. He has to be good to women.” We can’t wait for Shai to get a sibling!
