Priscilla Presley on Her Marriage to Elvis Presley: “He Never Saw Me Without Makeup!”

Nearly 40 years after her husband’s death, Priscilla Presley is getting candid about her marriage and life with Elvis Presley.

In a new interview, the 71-year-old star — who began dating the King of Rock and Roll at age 14 — revealed her teenage years were “stolen” from her because of her relationship with Elvis.

“I always had a little bit of makeup [on while around him]. He never wanted to see me getting dressed, he wanted to see the end result,” Priscilla said during a Wednesday, Nov. 16 appearance on ITV’s Loose Women.

“I realized that I don’t know who I am. I didn’t have my teenage years as a normal girl, obviously, so I had to adapt. So I just kind of followed what he did. I mean, you lived his life. You honestly didn’t have your own life… So you really kind of lost yourself,” she continued.

“The times when he was touring, I would go to dance class,” she added. “I started realizing that women have their own life.” Priscilla and Elvis — who died at age 42 in August 1977 — were married from 1967 until 1973. They are parents to a daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, 48, together.
